How Al Gore Shocked Me & What He’s Got to do with Yoga

August 18, 2014 by Guest Author 1 Comment

Is Al Gore talking to you?

by Lisa Wade I turned up to be transformed. To give my all to Al Gore’s Climate Reality leader’s training program that promised to take me from being a leader to an exceptional leader, all in the name of the environment. I was expecting slogans, fanfares and maybe a few cheerleaders. When Al Gore mentioned Ghandi I yawned, yep here comes the cliché machine, tick. Then he spoke of Satyagraha, truth force; “Ghandi said the greatest power in the world is truth”. I sat up because I’d … [Read more...]

Image by Okan Caliskan from Pixabay by Kara-Leah, I'm feeling a real desire to simplify and streamline my life right now. Beyond what's the normal de-clutter of a spring-clean. Yesterday I watched a video which helped me clarify why this is so. Kiesha Crowther Little Grandmother is one of the 12 young Shaman wisdom keepers from the United States speaking clearly about what's going on in our world right now. It's nothing new. We've heard it all before. This is a crucial time for Planet … [Read more...]

What’s yoga got to do with climate action?

October 16, 2009 by Kara-Leah Grant Leave a Comment

Well, plenty actually. And this is the perfect time to write about that connection. One, it's International Blog Action Day, when bloggers around the world write about one topic that matters - this year the environment. And two, next Saturday October 24th is International Climate Action Day, also happening worldwide. Here in Wellington, there will be meditation at Frank Kitts Park all day, and The Big Stretch - a free yoga class at 3pm. We want to get as many yogis to the free yoga … [Read more...]
