Time to pull it all together

Time to pull it all together

by Kara-Leah Grant

Welcome to the sixth and final Creative Sun Salutation Abundance flow video here on The Yoga Lunchbox.

This week we put it all together – everything that we’ve been exploring over the last five weeks.

This time, I verbally talk you through two circular sun salutations – once on the right leg and once on the left leg.

This is to help you fully learn the sequence.

However, once you’ve got it, forget about watching me and the video and instead play and explore in your own practice.

This is the key! I know I’ve been successful when you’re no longer watching me.

In time, you’ll learn the principles of tuning into your breath and playing with the concepts that we’ve been exploring in abundance – the sense of rooting down and connecting to the earth for sustenance and nourishment, and the need for a strong core and trunk that supports our flowering and opening.

These concepts are what’s important – not the actual postures. You may find that other postures come to you in this sequence and give you a stronger sense of grounding, a stronger sense of support and a stronger sense of flowering and opening.

Since I recorded this sequence in late September 2014, to now, in December 2014, I have already changed the sequence. One version is not better than the other, they’re just different, with slightly different feeling senses.

This one I’ve captured on video has a deeper sense of rooting. The new version has a stronger sense of opening. Depending on what’s required to facilitate a sense of abundance, either version is appropriate.

This is the yoga – the ability to adapt our practice to suit our ever evolving needs.

So please, use this sequence as a jumping off point. Don’t be attached the the postures. Evolve it and change it according to your needs and your expression. Make it playful. Make it intuitive. Make it responsive.

And most of all – enjoy!

Note: This video is designed to be used after you’ve learned and integrated Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4 & Week 5 into your practice.

Working with one video per week gives you a forty day practice and embeds the flow into your system over time.

If you haven’t yet watched and played with those earlier videos, I’d suggest using that format – one video per week, using that practice over the seven days before going into the next one.

If you have any questions about the practice, please leave a comment.

If you’re reading this in an email, you won’t be able to see the video – you have to go to the article on the website for that, and you need to be an Insider to access the full article with video – if you’re not, you’ll be prompted to join up.

Inside the Box only costs $NZ35/yr or $5/month, you can find out more & sign up here.
