When I received an email from Yoga teacher Samar Ocean Wolf Ciprian describing a healing and self-care technique she was using as ‘Yoga for the Organs’, I was intrigued.
This Mayan method talks about realigning the uterus, steaming the vagina and soaking the penis! For one, I had no idea the uterus could get out of alignment, and I’d never heard anyone doing anything like that with genitals.
I had to talk to her. Plus, then I read through the testimonials on her website. Samar’s made a serious difference in a number of people’s lives.
In this video interview with Samar Ocean Wolf Ciprian of Moon Yoga we discuss:
- The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy, how they were developed, and the story of Dr Rosita Arvigo
- Massaging from the sternum to the pubic bone and how the body heals itself
- Uterine alignment. How does a uterus get out of alignment?
- Why a woman’s uterus is her centre
- Yoga for organs
- How yoga changed her life after a car accident
- How she discovered Maya Abdominal Therapy and her journey with it
- Self care – how you can learn Arvigo techniques to use at home
- Squatting over hot coals, and vaginal steaming stools
- Other ways of working with wellbeing she uses, and how they inform each other
- What you can learn in the upcoming self-care course
- Penis soaks for men

This sounds amazing! I need this. I have such bad issues with my uterus. Lots of pain and bad PMS. Where can I find a Wellington practitioner?
Also, if you think that there are others in Wellington who have an interest in this, it is totally possible to teach a Self-Care course in Wellington in the not too distant future!
Hi lisette, thanks so much for your comment and for your interest in Arvigo Therapy. Currently, I am the only practitioner in New Zealand. I am based in Mt. Albert, Auckland and am super happy to accomodate out of town clients. There have been a few wonderful people who’ve driven/flown from other cities to have a session. The good thing about this is that the self-care massage and related techniques are all taught in the first session, so a person can go home and practice and be well on their way to healing. So, that might be an option for you. Additionally, I have an Arvigo Self-Care course scheduled for November in Queenstown (i’m a teacher now, yay!) and most likely one in Auckland in March. The Self-Care course involves lots of in depth learning. So, there are a few options. I hope there will be more practitioners in New Zealand soon 🙂
I have been doing self taught mediation for 15 years I,m learning everyday but feel very connected with the divine. Light is always present and recently visualizing a shape image I felt represented my husbands cancer further seeing an image with brilliant light forming the same shape as a growth on my thyroid. Also a violet colour has become present in my meditation. My question is how do I pray or assist this journey or help with this healing. I hope you can help.
Hey CGL,
Your comment doesn’t have anything to do with the article so it’s not the right forum to address it. I’m not clear on what you’re asking either.
Im about to start another IVF attempt with the main issue being scarring in my uterus from who knows where and when. I was wondering if you suggest the vaginal steaming AND massage or does the self care massage help more with blood flow and could be sufficient? I’m in Christchurch and can’t really get up to Auckland to try it all… ☺️ Ps. I’ve been doing Kundalini yoga “daily” for a year and it’s helped me so much with generally everything in life 🙌
Hi Sally,
I’m so glad to hear that Kundalini yoga has been helpful for you.
I’m no expert in this area, so I suggest that you contact Samar directly through her website: http://www.moon-yoga.com/
She may be able to answer your questions and guide you in the right direction.
Sending you blessings on your journey,
Lucinda
