Prana Flow NZ yogi photo shoot at Oriental Parade, Wellington

It was the most perfect day.

Four yogis.

Two cameras.

Brilliant sunshine.

A cast of thousands.

And Wellington city shining in all it’s glory.

Months in the planning…

One day in the execution…

… and hundreds of joyful, laughing, expressive yoga photos for use on this website.

For a long time now, I’ve had a vision of doing a yoga photo shoot – not of yogis deep in the perfect pose perfectly silhouetted against a black/white background…

But of yogis playing yoga out in the world, breaking into spontaneous asana whenever the urge hit them.

On top of walls

In the water

Next to skate parks

Beside statues

On top of sculptures.

I wanted to capture the free-flow form of Prana Flow Yoga…

The joy of practicing yoga with the sun on your face or the ocean lapping at your feet.

This is what yoga is all about.

Connection.

Laughter.

Friends.

Sunshine and water.

Going with the flow.

Good times.

Beauty.

Form.

Breath.

Working with what’s there.

It’s part of the plan to bring the yoga to the people.

To get yoga off the mat and into life.

So if you’re at the beach one afternoon.

And you feel like doing some postures.

You just do it.

For the fun of it, and the joy of it.

Feeling the Prana and feeling the Flow.

What a wonderful day – can’t wait for the next one!

    Awesome photo’s guys!

Taking ‘getting amongst it’ to the next level, right on.

They are all really cool, reckon the digger one ranks up there.

Showing Wellington and its Yogi’s in a beautiful light to be sure. Well done!

    Hey Tyag,

Cheers! It was such a fun day… and there will be another one in a few months if you’re keen. Different yogis, different locations, mixing it up and bringing yoga to the people!

    Hey Andrea,

It sure was – I think Lauren put it perfectly when she said later “Just looking at all those photos makes me feel happy!”

    Blessings,
    KL

    Hey Trudi,
Cheers babe – we did have so much fun! Hopefully it does inspire other yogis to get out and about and do something similar (and I can always publish the results here if people are interested…)

    Hey Vitor,

I love how you describe the photo shoot – it is about capturing that internal spiritual sense of life… how can we explain to people what it feels like to enter into a spiritual understanding of life? It’s tough… but through images, you can show it. Just like you do with your amazing images too I guess!

    Blessings,
    KL
