About Gabrielle Harris

Gabrielle was a regular columnist for the Yoga Lunchbox in 2012, with her series 'The Suburban Yogini'

Gabrielle discovered yoga after being a body balance teacher and has not looked back. After completing her level 3 training in Australia (2011) as a power vinyasa teacher, she has taught in a variety of locations including corporate and her own private community class. Gabrielle compares her practice to ‘aspirin melting in water’, a steady path to relaxation. She is an avid reader of modern yoga philosophy and likes to bring a bit of this into each class to make it challenging and create a little transformation everytime. You can find her on her website Half Moon Yoga.

'May you live like the lotus, at home in the muddy water.'

Thank you for your honesty and sharing your perspective. As a long-term sufferer of a severe anxiety disorder – albeit one well on the road to recovery – I appreciate hearing your story.

I do think there can be a significant, biological element to anxiety disorders – this has been my experience and that of friends – that nutrition can heal. That said, I do agree that the practice of yoga and being present certainly helps.
